Territorial differentiation and the epidemiological transition in Russia

The article identifies the health features in Russian regions from the point of the epidemiological transition theory. It is impossible to develop an effective social and economic policies aimed at increasing average life expectancy without consideration of these features. Statistical data analysis give us grounds to say that different regions of our country are at different stages of the epidemiological transition, and regional ethnohistorical features and disparities in the development of the territories show that the main tasks of the early stages of the epidemiological transition in Russia have not been solved in full.
