Territorial mobility of the population of a region

The paper examines the Republic of Mordovia as a case study of territorial mobility; it presents the demographic characteristics of the region and analyzes the migration turnover in the second half of the 20th century; it also discusses the features of return migration and the phenomenon of seasonal work; it shows the general trends of the population exchange with the former Soviet republics.
