It is considered the territory of settlement and the number of North Caucasian Nogais at the end of the 18th - middle of 19th centuries with using special scientific literature and various factual materials in this article. Statistical information on the number of the Nogais was given in detail for the period under review based information on the number of the Nogais according to historical notes of foreign travelers, as well as documentary information from archival sources directly related to the history of the North Caucasus Nogais. The Nogais were forced to nomadize separately from one another due to the circumstances in the XVIII century. But they did not represent a single nation politically. It is extremely difficult for us to establish an accurate number of the Nogais residing in the North Caucasus at the end of the 18th - middle of 19th centuries. This is due to their frequent migrations across Russia, the Crimean Peninsula and the Port where they took part in military clashes. By that, in our opinion the number of losses from the Nogais side in Russian historiography has been greatly diminished. Determination of the number of Kuban and Crimean Nogais in the late 18th century is the most interesting and the most difficult for us. A lot of Nogais began to move more and more frequently to Zakuban and the Crimean peninsula from the territory of the North-Western Caspian in the 18th century. Therefore, the bulk of the Nogais was concentrated on this territory.
