This article examines how Nietzsche's theses related to the concept of "death of a subject" were developed in the French philosophy of the second half of the twentieth century. Particular attention is paid to changes in literary criticism, that occurred due to the introduction into its horizon by Roland Barth and by Maurice Blanchot of the " death of author" idea and the problem of "another."
