The Tikhvin theological school in the everyday life of the Tikhvin Assumption Monastery

The paper deals with the main milestones of the Tikhvin Theological School, which existed for more than 200 years (with breaks) at one of the most importantin the North-West of Russia monastic monasteries - Tikhvin Assumption monastery. This spiritual school owes its birth to the hieromonks Ioaniky and Sophrony Likhud. The school was organically included in the daily life of the monastery. In addition, the theological school operated not only at the monastery. A similar educational institution belonging to the Novgorod diocese existed in the city of Tikhvin. In 1854, the Tikhvin schools dedicated for training future clergymen were merged into one. Before its abolition in 1918, the school was originally located at the Assumption monastery where a separate building was built for it in 1898. During this time, the liturgical life of the students continued in the monastery churches.
