Typical mistakes in articles and typical mistakes in dictations as two sides of the same problem

This article discusses the standards of spelling in journalistic texts on the basis of materials placed on the web portals, Orsk, Orenburg region «Ural56.Ru», «ORSK.Ru» and «Orsk-Portal» in comparison with the results of the checking of participants’ works of Total Dictation in Orsk (2012-2014). According to the author, the coincidence of typical groups of mistakes identified in the data analysis of the texts allows to draw conclusions on the one hand, of the low level of literacy among journalists and, on the other hand, about the negative impact of incorrect media texts on linguistic consciousness of the people.
