Road transport occupies an important role in almost all spheres of public life. Every year, the number of vehicles on the roads is becoming more and more, and this naturally has a negative impact on the safety of relations developing in this area. Measures to improve the rule of law in the field of motor vehicles and road traffic can be of various nature, including forensic support, the main purpose of which is also to combat criminal manifestations in this area of public life. Improving the disclosure and investigation of road accidents this article is devoted to improving this. The main subject of the study is the laws of the mechanism of crimes related to violations of traffic rules and the operation of road transport, as well as the activities of the investigator and other persons directly involved in the investigation of such crimes. At the same time, special attention is paid to the subsequent stage of the investigation, which is studied to a lesser extent than the initial stage and the stage of initiating criminal proceedings on the grounds of crimes of this category.
