Typological features of single-industry towns: conceptual aspect

The article considers methodological approaches to resolution of challenges of sustainable development of Russian single-industry towns. The urgency of the topic is substantiated by the fact that there is intensification of negative socioeconomic tendencies in the majority of monotowns. The scientific relevance of the research consists in clarification of a concept of depressive monotown, development of monotowns’ typology, and definition of typological features of the monotowns.
