A typology of the interpretation of prophecy in the works of Theodore of Mopsuestia

Te article considers certain peculiarities of the views of Teodore of Mopsuestia on the messianic character of prophecy in the Old Testament. His commentaries on the Psalms, the twelve Minor Prophets, the Gospel of John and the Pauline Epistles are considered. On the basis of comparative analysis of the works of this exegete, the author atempts to show that, aside from some exceptions, Teodore is able to identify Christ in Old Testament prophecy only by way of typology.
