The article reveals the role of trading centers in Dagestan - Derbent, Tarqui, Endirey and Aksay in organization of domestic and foreign trade in flat-ground Dagestan. Derbent is characterized as the most economically rich town in Dagestan, trans-shipment point for goods transported by land and by sea from the Trans-Caucasian Region to Russia and back. The role of Derbent in the development of Russian-Dagestan trade strengthens in the XVIII century. The Shamhal (ruler) of Tarki urban-type settlement of that period was involved in the trade agreement concluded in 1667 between Russia and Armenian trading company Nor-Jugha. Tarki merchants traveled to Terek, Astrakhan, and Moscow with embassies, having customs privileges. In Endirey focused the trade between the mountainous and planar parts of Dagestan, between the peoples of Dagestan and Chechnya. Aksay village also played an important role in the development of trade; it had lively bazaars, collecting a great number of people from the neighboring areas: the mountainous regions of Dagestan, Kabarda, Chechnya.
