Tradition and current state of philanthropy in the city of Moscow (the sociological aspect)

The article analyzes the main tendencies and the state of the institution of charity in Moscow on the base of information from periodicals, and considers the remote historical trade of its activities. The author shows the connection between philanthropy and volunteerism as one of the modern social trends, gives the characteristics of the new social cast project, and determines the main drivers of the development of charity on the example of Moscow.
