Traditional Islam in the context of the Chechens' ethnic culture

The article describes features of the traditional Islam (Sufi Islam) and its place in the ethnic culture of Chechens. The author studies reasons of contradictions between the traditional Islam and Wahhabism defined as the Islamic radicalism. The ethnic Chechen culture is considered as a syncretic unity combining both secular and religious components.
