The land issue has always been a "stumbling block" for Russia, a former agrarian country with a predominantly peasant population. Until the time when Russia was transformed from an imperial country to a socialist country, there was a multi-party system in which each party offered its interpretation of the land issue with the help of an agrarian program. These interpretations can be divided into two areas, the first -defended the interests of the landlord class through the destruction of the land-communal system and the introduction of private ownership of all lands, the second was the complete nationalization of the land. But in this article a completely different point of view of the interpretation of the land issue is considered, proposed by the well-known Russian economist Sergei Semenovich Maslov, whose works are quite relevant today, the time of the economic crisis.
