Transformations of political regimes in Egypt and Libya in the context of the Arab spring: comparative analysis

The article carries out comparative analysis of the political regimes in Egypt and Libya in the context of the Arab Spring in 2011-2016. The scientific relevance of the research is determined by the importance of stabilizing of the Arab East countries in order to overcome the threats to international and national security. The author describes institutional parameters of the political regimes of Egypt and Libya, their similarities and differences. The paper discusses socio-economic, religious and political factors of political regime instability in these countries, their dependence on the correlation of the interests of the confronting political forces, as well as the geopolitical context.
