Transformation of urban space as a development factor of the experience economy

Among the main factors of the experience economy effective development is the space surrounding the person, which forms the perception of the surrounding reality. Ability to convey the necessary information through a variety of thematic elements and, in general, a competent approach to its organization significantly increases the attractiveness of destinations. The article is focused on the interpretation of the concepts of “space” and “urban space”, noting the inherent features of the latter, represented by a combination of spatial spheres: social, cultural, political, communicative, etc. The authors analyzes the transformation of urban space while conducting socio-economic, cultural, sporting and other events through the example of large Russian cities - centers of tourist interest. The changes that are taking place in present time allow tourists appreciating the uniqueness of cities and the opportunities to get acquainted with them. The resulting positive impressions enhance interest in cities and urban tourism and increase their competitiveness among other tourist destinations, positive impacting on the experience economy development.
