We studied the resonance transformation of fast magnetosonic (FMS) waves falling from the solar wind into Alfven and slow magnetosonic (SMS) oscillations in the Earth's magnetosphere. Study of this process in the one-dimensional inhomogeneous model showed that presence of the resonant surface in plasma configuration for SMS oscillations significantly increases the energy absorption of FMS waves falling on the magnetosphere. Space distribution of the absorption rate of the FMS wave energy flux was examined. To perform numerical calculations for FMS waves, we used the Kolmogorov spectrum typical of waves in the transition region between the shock wave and the magnetopause. It is shown that the absorption rate of the FMS wave energy due to the resonant excitation of SMS oscillations is several orders of magnitude greater than the absorption rate of their energy, related to resonant Alfven waves, on the same magnetic shells.
