Transformation of ideological grounds of western culture from premodem to postmodern

The article is aimed at revealing the distinctive features of ideological grounds of postmodern culture through the analysis of the main stages in the evolution of the ideological grounds of Western culture. The article shows that this evolution went through the following stages: religiosity, secularism and postsecularism. Certain processes of resacralisation occur in the society at the stage of postsecularism. However, these processes cannot be qualified as a revival of religiosity because religion does not acquire the status of a leading form of ideology, and is increasingly becoming the subject of consumer fashion and the way of symbolic self-identification.
