Employment regimes transformation: an analysis of world experience

The dynamics of the forms of standard and non-standard employment during demographic and economic transformations is studied. The analysis of hired labor and vulnerable employment was carried out for the period 1991–2020, of temporary and part-time employment – 2000–2019. Despite of an increase in hired labor and a decrease in the share of vulnerable employment, there was a spread of such forms of non-standard employment as temporary and part-time employment. Temporary and part-time employment is more characteristic for women. At the same time, when the demographic transition is completed and a high level of socio-economic development is achieved, male vulnerable employment exceeds the female one, and male wage labor, on the contrary, is inferior to female wage labor. Therefore, it is recommended to pay an increased attention to legal regulation of non-standard employment regimes with an emphasis on female employment, and in the field of male employment to pay an increased attention to combating vulnerable employment and the transition to wage labor.
