Transformation of the essence of goods in the digital economy

The article examines the impact of the changes brought by the digital transformation of the economy, analyzes the consequences of the emergence of new types of goods, works and services, examines the change in their economic essence. The production and sale of intangible goods (goods, services or works) leads to the need to introduce new classifiers of commodity groups and types of economic activity. The paper studies the theoretical aspects of the theory of the value of goods, a new phenomenon of goods with zero marginal costs and zero cost. The latter leads to the need for new ways to monetize the activities of companies in the field of digital goods, works and services. By itself, the meaning of the production of digital goods changes from goods as carriers of value and a source of profit to means of satisfying needs in the production and distribution process. The digital transformation of the economy determines the emergence of new forms of commodity relations, and traditional goods, thanks to the digitalization of their production and distribution mechanisms, are characterized by lower cost due to savings in transaction costs. At the same time, sales growth is expected due to network effects and reduction of transaction costs of the buyer.
