Transformation of traditional fur hunting in Tofalars, the Sayan reindeer breeders

In the article, based on scholarly literature as well as the fieldwork materials, the author gives a detailed description of means and methods of hunting for different kinds of fur animals: sable, squirrel, otter, lynx, wolverine, kolinsky and ermine, as well as bear and wolf. The article also contains the description of different means and tools for hunting used by the Sayans reindeer breeders depending on hunting season and animal species.
