Transformation of employment in the era of digitalization: reasons and consequences

The article studies the process of development of new forms of employment, described as non-traditional, precarious forms of employment. The emergence and development of other, flexible forms of employment is associated with the formation of a digital economy, which is fundamentally different from the industrial model of management in its approaches to attracting people to perform labor functions, organizing labor relations. The role of the COVID-19 pandemic in the rapid development of alternative forms of employment that do not imply a permanent workplace and time, as well as sources of income, is determined. A new paradigm of employment in the digital era is described. Social risks, risks of information and network unemployment associated with the growing instability of society and high labor mobility of citizens are described as consequences of the change in the concept of employment. An increase in the danger of risks associated with labor activity (dismissal, professional burnout) for all categories of workers - both low- and high-skilled - is noted. Conclusions are made about the need to form fundamentally new conceptual approaches to employment in the digital economy.
