Considering New Year postcard as a highly representative artifact of everyday practices, the author analyses its expressive means and potential in passing various meanings to reconstruct a more detailed sociocultural and socio-psychological portrait of the epoch. Focusing on the transformation of New Year postcard from the mid-1950s until now, the author identifies significant trends and patterns of its existence during these decades.
