Trends and prospects of the encouragement of the investment activity in the North Caucasian federal district

In the article the tendencies of the development of the economic complex of the North Caucasusian federal district of Russia in the respect of the main macroeconomic indicators are investigated. It is noted that the North Caucasusian federal district remains an economically perspective macroregion of Russia, attractive to investors because of a convenient territorial location, rich natural resources, unloaded capacities and the developed transport network. The special attention is paid by the authors to the investment activity in the regions of the North Caucasusian federal district over the last 5 years, to the analysis of those innovations which have been carried out in the investment sphere of the macroregion. In particular, the main attention is paid to the realization in 2016 of the strategy of financing of economic branches of the district within three directions: investment, supporting and image ones. The authors focus the attention on the importance of the role of the state in the support to the southern regions in the implementation of the strategically significant investment projects, in the creation of a complex system of monitoring the investment activity. In the article it is emphasized that today the attention of private investors is drawn more and more to the so-called economically effective “anchor” commercial projects creating the base for the development of the projects accompanying business.
