This article focuses on anxiety as the basis of criminal behavior. The concept of this phenomenon is considered based on the opinions of various scientists. The signs of the state of anxiety are given. The connection between anxiety and criminal behavior has been investigated. The forms of anxiety (fear) are presented. Specific examples of criminal behavior due to different forms are given. The phases of development of psychologically alienated individuals are highlighted. The results of the research are summed up.
