On the issue of protecting Russia's national interests in the Great Middle East

The article attempts identifying and analyzing some key aspects of returning Russia to the Great Middle East in the status of the great power capable of defending its national interests, including the use of armed force when necessary. The author shows that one of the important factors that provided such an opportunity was the failed US policy in the region that led to loss of confidence of the majority of the region's peoples towards Washington, which had built its strategy, ignoring their vital interests. The main attention is focused on some of the most relevant, in the author's view, directions of Russia's policy aimed at protecting the national interests of the country in the context of ensuring its national security.
