Chechens’ labour in economic development of Central Kazakhstan in 1944-1957

Basing upon the archival sources, the article analyzes the history of labour of deported peoples in the creation of the largest industrial enterprises of the Central Kazakhstan. By case study of the Karaganda coal basin, the author makes an attempt to show the typical development of relationship of the deported Chechens with the local population during the period of the special settlements regime.
