Employment of wheelchair users as one of the social problems

This article discusses the issues of employment of wheelchair users. The number of disabled people in this category in Russia is constantly growing, due to an increase in cases of injuries, chronic and congenital diseases, and currently stands at 320 thousand people. People with disabilities who are faced with the need to constantly use a wheelchair are a significant group of the population and are able to bring economic benefits and benefits to society through the performance of certain work. However, there are serious barriers along the way that hinder their employment and professional development, including problems of adapting the workplace for an employee in a wheelchair, low-paid jobs, discrimination by employers.
