Turkish fortresses in the territory of the Kuban in the 15th - 17th centuries

The article is concerned with the establishment of the Ottoman Empire in the Northwestern Caucasus in the 15 th - 17 th centuries from the perspective of building of the military fortifications. The author analyzes the geopolitical situation in the Northwestern part of the Black Sea basin on the eve of the Ottoman Empire appearance. The article also describes the military fortresses of the Ottoman Porte on the territory of Kuban.
