Tourist routes in the state regulation

State regulation in tourism is based on well-known categories of the conceptual apparatus, enshrined in federal law. The category of tourism product occupies the key place in it. However, the technology for the tourist product formation often relies on tourist route. The ideas about the composition, specifics, requirements for the tourist route in domestic science and practice have a long history. At the same time, they are reflected in the regulatory framework of state regulation partially. There are known legislative provisions regulating the division of tourist routes into categories and degrees of difficulty, which applies more to sports tourism. The GOST and GOST R system defines the conditions for the development and design of tourist routes. A key element in the design of tourist routes is the tourist service program, including a set of tourist services. At the same time, the nature of the tourist route goes beyond the totality of food services, accommodation, excursion services, etc. The concept of branded tourist routes has spread in the practice of developing the tourism sector and promoting the tourism potential of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. In the new paradigm reflected in the Tourism Development Strategy in the Russian Federation for the period until 2035, the tourist route has a significant role. In this regard, it seems appropriate to include the concept of «tourist route» in the system of state tourism regulation.
