Tourism as an instrument of drawing attention to the Republic of Dagestan

The article attempts to describe the Republic of Dagestan as a zone of inbound tourism with great potential. Among the factors that attract tourists, the author highlights favorable climatic conditions of the Caspian coast, monuments of architecture, nature and history, comfortable health resorts and children''s camps, resources for extreme sports (rafting, skiing). The author determines the reasons that undermine the image of the country as a tourist area, such as the lack of advertising or the negative image of the country, created by the mass media.
