«Bows out of Turkestan» (materials of F. Von lushan)

The article analyzes materials on the so-called «Turkestan» compound bows were collected and studied by renowned German scholar of the second half of XIX - early XX centuries F. Lushan. This researcher had collected valuable information about the different types of bows and examined their structural features. On the basis of a comparative analysis of them in a separate type of «Turkestan» bow and traced the area of distribution of this type of bow in the era of antiquity to the ethnographic period.
