The article regards the chess sets in the stone-carving minor arts of Tuva, housing in the Tuvinian museum holdings. The author examines the iconography and the basic techniques and forms of miniature plastic figure arts. In stone-carving arts the designing a chess set exposes the endless exuberance of creative manner of such masters as T.K. Khertek and D.Kh. Doibukhaa and their unique chessmen. In recent times Tuvinian chess craftsmen prefer hereditary materials like lard stone and green marble, and they have achieved perfect artistic skills developing customary traditions.
