The article deals with the main stages of A.Y. Brushtein’s work on the autobiographical trilogy, namely: diary records and poems of her gymnasium years (1897-1901), drama The Blue and the Pink (1935), and an unpublished essay about the writer’s family (the decade after the war). A number of archival documents, for the first time introduced into academic studies, permits to clarify the “movement plan” of the autobiographical trilogy in its correlation with the writer’s creative work and “the literature of the Soviet past” as a whole.
