This research is devoted to the problem of everyday life in the rear. The presented article is mainly based on a source of personal origin - a wartime memoir diary. The subject of the study was the diary of the rear railroad worker Eshpanov Zhuban, which contains many interesting facts and stories from the daily life of those years. He describes in his diary entries real historical events, his personal experiences. The pathman's diary is a first-person narrative about the harsh and heroic everyday life. The diary contains a lot of information about the supply and nutrition system of workers and employees: Stakhanov's competitions, survival strategies, methods of adaptation. The handwritten diary contains small notes about the state of affairs in the rear, like a documentary chronicle. This legacy can be used to recreate the front and rear everyday life of the heroic everyday life of Soviet railroad workers.
