The article examines history and current condition of the Ubsunur Basin as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. In addition, it analyzes the activities of a scientific institution and protected area - the Ubsunur International Center for Biosphere Research and the State Natural Biosphere Reserve “Ubsunur Basin”.
