Cossacks’ participation in the World War II in favour of Germany

The article is concerned with Cossacks’ participation in the World War II in favour of Germany, studying data on both Cossacks-emigrants and Cossacks-Soviet citizens. The relevance of the research is determined by the discussion developed lately in the academic community and general public on the issue of collaborationism. The author considers reasons according to which some Cossacks supported Hitler, attitude of the Third Reich to the Cossacks, and the main areas of collaboration between the Cossacks and fascist Germany.
