Participation of local and Russian intellectuals in the formation of Uzbek theater criticism

It is known that until the end of the XIX century in the Uzbek written literature there was no genre of theater criticism. This trend was achieved with the formation of Turkestan as a Russian colony and the beginning of European theater art in our country. It should be noted that there is a direct contribution of Russian theater critics and intellectuals. Many of our educators and Russian intellectuals, who conducted active creative searches during this period, first of all helped us to create the Uzbek professional national theater and carry out its educational activities in the life of society. The article examines the participation of local and Russian intellectuals in the formation of Uzbek theater criticism and their contribution to the Uzbek theater art.
