The article deals with the participation of Polish political exiles in the development of gold deposits in Verkhneudinsk and Bar-guzin districts of Tranbaikal region in 1870-1880s. The author highlights the activities of the exiles on the basis of the materials the State Archives of the Republic of Buryatia.
