Participation of trade unions in the political process of modern Russia

The paper analyzes the forms and methods of trade unions’ involvement in the political process in modern Russia. The study showed that trade unions have an impact on public policy. Union representatives participate in the elections, cooperate with political parties and the Ministry of Labour. The author concludes that trade unions in modern Russia still need the support of the authorities in defending the interests of the working class, and the state needs the support of trade unions to ensure social stability.
