The participation of the Russian Federation in the multilateral development banks (methodological aspects)

The research issue raised in the article is to assess the prospects of cooperation of the Russian Federation with multilateral development banks. In order to answer it, such factors as negative consequences of globalisation and de globalisation, increasing economic gap between developed and developing countries and the effect of Western sanctions against the Russian Federation and its partners are defined. On the basis of the analysis and systematisation of published research in the specialised scientific issues, the classification of multilateral development banks has been carried out, the specifics of their activities in modern conditions have been revealed, and the necessity and possibilities of cooperation between the Russian Federation and such institutions have been identified. The author concludes that the interaction between the Russian Federation and multilateral development banks is promising at the present stage, especially in the parity format. The greatest benefit is expected from the New Development Bank and the Eurasian Development Bank. It is also recommended to intensify cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank and the African Development Bank.
