The participation of armed forces from the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialistic Republic in the Soviet-Finnish war 1939-1940

The article is devoted to the participation of armed forces from Tatarstan in the Soviet-Finnish war. The author observes the history of formation of the 86th Kazan Rifle Division and of the two Volunteer ski battalions, as well as the role of the Communist party's bodies in the organization and providing of armed forces. Special attention is paid to the research of the battle route of the mentioned armed forces.
