Investigation participants and their procedural status

This article discusses the procedural status, role and functions of the different investigation participants in the criminal procedure. The paper presents the definition and the author’s classification of the investigation participants. The research expresses the legislative initiative on the introduction to the Russian Federation Code of Criminal Procedure of the article, which strengthened the procedural status of the investigation participants, formally not being the participants of the criminal procedure, but entering into the legal relations with an investigator or an investigating officer due to the investigative proceedings.
