The article deals with the interpretation of the anatta and nirvana doctrine in the Buddhist philosophy. The article gives an original interpretation of the doctrine in its correlation with the Buddhist idea of what happens with a person in Nirvana. In the article opinions of the main Buddhist scholars such as V. G. Lysenko, A. Pyatigorsky, F. I. Shcherbatsky, V. K. Shokhin, S. Radkhakrishnan and others on this problem are analyzed. The author analyzes etc. The author offers his own interpretations of the basic Buddhist ontological categories such as "atman", "anatta", "bhava", and "nirvana".
