The author investigates the instructions norms of the internal museum practice (the 1920s-1930s). Instructional materials positioned as a source of information about the methodology of national museum practice. The article is devoted to the demonstration in the manuals some problems and goals of museum funds research. Systematically analyzing the terminology and statements of museum instructions, the author seeks to reveal the understanding, features and significance of museum accounting for museum preservation and scientific work in the 1920s-1930s.
