The purpose of the work was to study the effectiveness of a hardware and software complex for measuring, processing, and controlling lighting (APC IOUO) in the poultry house for the flock of productive laying hens housed in multi-tiered cage batteries. In conditions of Chebarkul Poultry, LLC, 105-day Hisex Brown pullets were allotted in two treatments housed in identical poultry houses, control (57,524 birds) and experimental (58,842 birds), and kept until 300 days in five-tiered cage batteries in a regime of intermittent lighting with average light intensity at the feeders’ levels 10 Lx and light color temperature 2800-3200 K. The LED lamps in both houses were positioned traditionally, in the centers of the passages between the batteries, at the height of 30 cm from the top edges of the batteries and 1.5 m distance between each other; in the house for the experimental treatment the APC IOUO was also mounted. It was found that the complex allowed to maintain light intensity in the house at the required level throughout the entire housing period while in the control house the light intensity in the end of this period decreased by 29.3% below this level. The better lighting resulted in lower mortality (1.9%, lower by 0.4% in compare to control), higher live body weight at 300 days (1977 g, by 2.1%), egg production per initial hen (141.4 eggs, by 0.6%), egg weight (58.3 g, by 2.1%, P function show_eabstract() { $('#eabstract1').hide(); $('#eabstract2').show(); $('#eabstract_expand').hide(); }
