District law enforcement chiefs in the Tobolsk province (early XX century)

The research subject is a post of uyezd ispravnic (district law enforcement chief) in the police structure of the Tobolsk province in the early XX century. The author considers the police chiefs， status secured in legislation, studies their official jurisdictions. Furthermore, social set-up, level of education, commendations and reprimands of police officers are illustrated. The research is based on archival sources that have not been yet introduced into the scientific use.
