Comparative legal analysis of the criminal legislation of the EAEU member states in the field of protection of personal data

The relevance of the research topic lies in the fact that in the context of an increase in the amount of information, the volume of its processing and the diversification of ways to access it, the number of users of digital services increases accordingly, and at the same time, the problem of protecting personal data becomes more and more urgent. The modern world is transforming and more and more immersed in the digital space, as a result of which the issue of personal data protection concerns not only individual individuals, but also the economy as a whole. Being one of the priority areas for the national security of the Russian Federation, the Eurasian Economic Union) plays an important role in the process of regional and interregional integration. Based on this, the purpose of this study is a comparative analysis of the criminal legislation of the member states of the EAEU. The main research methods that were used during the development of the topic are the method of analysis and the comparative legal method. As a result of the scientific development of the research topic, significant differences were found in the approaches, dispositions and sanctions of the criminal legislation of all EAEU member states and the need for its harmonization for further integration. The practical significance of the results of the study of the topic lies in the fact that the results obtained can be applied in legislative activities through the improvement of the rules of law, which are devoted to establishing criminal liability for the misuse of personal information.
