Introduction: on the example of Art. 207 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation considers the problems of implementing the criminal law policy of Russia to combat this crime committed using the Internet information and telecommunication network. Materials and Methods: the study used statistical data on the number of registered crimes, federal laws aimed at criminalizing socially dangerous acts committed using the Internet information and telecommunication network. General scientific and particular scientific research methods were used, which made it possible to generalize and analyze the collected material on the research topic. Results: it is concluded that the criminal law policy pursued by the state in the field of combating crimes committed using the information and telecommunication network of the Internet (on the example of article 207 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) does not fully solve the problem of preventing crimes enshrined in art. 2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (hereinafter - the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The inclusion in certain articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation as a qualifying feature of the provisions on their commission using the Internet information and telecommunications network does not stop the growth in the number of registered crimes. Discussions and Conclusions: substantiates the conclusion about the need for a comprehensive use of the possibilities of criminal policy (criminal policy is understood as the policy pursued by the state to combat crime), including not only criminal law, but also legal, resource, personnel, methodological and other types of support for the fight against crimes committed using information -telecommunication network Internet.
