Introduction: the growth in the number of corruption crimes threatens not only public administration, but also reduces the efficiency of the economy and other social institutions, which is especially dangerous in the context of growing geopolitical competition and integration of states. Russia, along with other countries, is actively fighting corruption, with the main part of the measures being concentrated in the field of criminal law policy. The norms adopted at the legislative level are constantly being transformed, improved, the legislator is actively searching for optimal mechanisms for combating corruption crimes related to giving and receiving bribes and other types of illegal remuneration. In order to ensure the continuity of the legislative process, to identify the best ways to combat corruption, a thorough analysis of the entire legislative process is required. Materials and methods: the basis of the study was the legislation of the Russian Federation, scientific research in the field of criminal law protection of forests from fires. The methodological basis of the study was the general dialectical method of scientific knowledge, as well as methods of logical deduction, cognitive methods and techniques of analysis, comparison, generalization and description. The results of the study made it possible to determine the main patterns of development of anti-corruption legislation, determine the effectiveness of the adopted norms, identify specific law enforcement problems, and formulate proposals for overcoming. Findings and conclusions: specific conclusions were formulated regarding the state of criminal law policy in the field of combating corruption crimes related to giving and receiving bribes and other types of illegal remuneration (legislative aspect), to propose criteria for criminalization.
