Introduction: the article investigates certain issues of criminal regulation of the corpus delicti of crimes under Articles 2051 and 2823 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Materials and Methods: materials of the forensic practice, regulatory acts of the Russian Federation and the provisions of international human rights law. Results: the authors found certain contradictions of Articles 2051 and 2823 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation criminalizing the financing of terrorist and extremist activities; suggest improving them. Discussion and Conclusions: the authors conclude that it is important to adhere to a single approach when constructing Articles 2051 and 2823 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation accordingly in order to improve the effectiveness of criminal law to combat the financing of terrorism and extremism.
